The physical and psychological challenges older adults face as a result of their advancing age often requires them to depend on family members and paraprofessional caregivers for assistance.
Today, one in four American adults provide care to an aging relative. Research shows that eighty-five percent of unpaid help provided to older adults in the United States is from family members (Alzheimer’s Association, 2015).The physical, emotional, and financial cost of providing this care is significant. Caregivers often struggle with depression, anxiety, frustration, headaches, insomnia, and feelings helplessness.
We’re here to help by providing you with consultations and counseling, care management, and community education events geared especially for families with an aging relative. We can connect you with other resources and support groups that may help you cope better with the stresses of being a family caregiver.
Call our main number 773.508.1000 and talk to a CJE Concierge who will direct you to someone who can help.
