Helping Holocaust Services Help Survivors

The transition of the administra-tion of Holocaust Community Ser-vices (HCS) from JCFS to CJE SeniorLife early in 2015 required clerical assistance from volunteers.

Filing, scanning and inputting data, volunteers donated over 150 hours allowing HCS staff to focus on reaching out to nearly 800 Holo-caust survivors and their families by offering support groups, sociali-zation programs and assistance with various Holocaust reparations and compensation programs.

As part of the effort to seek new opportunities to serve more survi-vors and their families, Holocaust Community Services will be ex-panding their volunteer services by providing survivors with in–home “Friendly Visitor” volunteers.
