CJE SeniorLife Receives Grant From the Highland Park Community Foundation to Host Local Workshop on Retirement

CHICAGO, January 3, 2018 – CJE SeniorLife is pleased to announce it recently received a grant from the Highland Park Community Foundation in support of “Purpose, Passion and Financial Health in Retirement,” a three-section workshop to be held at the Highland Park Library in Spring 2018.

The workshop will combine the expertise of two CJE departments: the Center for Healthy Living and Consumer Assistance. CJE will help older adults in Highland Park and Highwood who are retired or considering retirement explore meaning and purpose in retirement, and provide participants with specific information as to what public benefits they may be eligible for to ensure financial stability. Sections will include:

  • A 1-hour interactive group event on personal goals, possibilities for reinvention, and quality of life in retirement.
  • A 1-hour group presentation on government benefits and community resources.
  • One-on-one benefits check-up appointments.

The Highland Park Community Foundation annually awards grants though a competitive application and review process. For more information, visit www.hpcommunityfoundation.com. To find out more about CJE’s Center for Healthy Living and Consumer Assistance programming, visit www.cje.net.

About Highland Park Community Foundation
The Highland Park Community Foundation was established in 1992 at the request of the City of Highland Park to build and maintain a permanent endowment fund. The fund serves to support and expand the services of social service, cultural, educational, and environmental agencies in Highland Park and Highwood. It is also used to nurture the early stages of new and innovative programs. The Foundation’s mission is to expand opportunities for all Highland Park and Highwood residents and to support organizations and programs that “meet the unmet needs” of the community – needs that are not met by governmental or other sources. By choosing an endowment fund as its primary financial vehicle, the Foundation can serve the community in perpetuity. For more information, visit www.hpcommunityfoundation.com.

Since 1972, CJE SeniorLife has enhanced the lives of older adults and their families through an innovative, comprehensive network that includes life enrichment programs, supportive resources, healthcare, research and education.
