Subaru of America’s 11th annual “Share the Love Event” supports Chicago’s seniors
CHICAGO, May 9, 2019 – CJE SeniorLife’s Home-Delivered Meals program is proud to announce it has received a $3,466.75 grant from Meals on Wheels America for participating in Subaru of America’s Share the Love Event. During the event, held from November 15, 2018 to January 2, 2019, Subaru of America, Inc. donated $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer’s choice of participating charities, including Meals on Wheels America, of which CJE is a member.
Through social media and local outreach, CJE supported Meals on Wheels America as one of Subaru’s longstanding chosen charitable partners. CJE also collaborated with local retailer Evanston Subaru to deliver meals to clients in Evanston and Skokie. Meals on Wheels America supports local, community-based senior nutrition programs like CJE’s Home-Delivered Meals program to ensure that no senior is hungry or alone. Meals on Wheels America’s continued support has helped CJE’s staff and volunteers deliver the nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks that enable Chicago’s seniors to live nourished lives with independence and dignity.
“Each year, support from Meals on Wheels America is critical to maintaining this safety-net service for CJE’s most vulnerable clients,” said Leon Greenberg, Manager, Home-Delivered Meals/Kosher To Go. “Thanks to this generous grant, CJE’s Home-Delivered Meals program will be able to serve more local seniors in need.”
