Ivan Handler wanted to give back and help during the current Covid-19 pandemic. It turns out Handler is in possession of a 3D printer, and he knew that creating some face shields would be a great way to fulfill his goal.” So, he got right to work on them, and the rest is PPE history. He is seen here modeling one of his creations. Handler made and donated 50 face shields to CJE. He enumerates his donations: “I've given away over 150 altogether—most to other small agencies, including the Ark, and then to the 47th ward office to distribute to local businesses.” He can make about 60 to 70 shields per week, saying “I have plenty more to give.” Needless to say, they are a welcome gift for CJE.
Handler, a client of CJE, is not only generous, but is also tremendously sensitive and full of empathy. He voices his concern about the many who might be struggling during the pandemic. He worries about one of his friends, a musician whose gigs have dried up. He keeps close tabs on him and goes out of his way to make sure he will be ok. He’s a good friend indeed—to his musician buddy, and to CJE as well. And we thank Ivan Handler for thinking of us at this time of great time of need.
