In our Summer 2018 LIFE issue, you'll uncover features that celebrate CJE’s diversity and that of older adults, plus many other interesting pieces.
Life - The Quarterly Magazine of CJE SeniorLife
In honor of Social Work Month in March and Mental Health Month in May, we highlight our very own Counseling Services, an integral component of CJE that has been part of our continuum of care since our inception. We demonstrate the unique power of groups that can lead to even greater personal growth than individual therapy. We reveal the special alchemy that occurs when older adults or their caregivers come together with their peers to address common concerns and realize that they can also help others through this process.
In this issue, you will find a most interesting article on a study by our Leonard Schanfield Research Institute and three partner organizations. We also give you a preview of a remarkable new publication by Holocaust Community Services. Finally, as has become the custom in LIFE’s winter issue, we include the year-end list of donors with our deepest gratitude for their incredible generosity.
When the name CJE SeniorLife comes up, our reputation as a long-time (45 years!) leader in providing services for older adults usually comes to mind first. After all, our mission is to enhance quality of life and facilitate the independence of older adults. Closely intertwined with that mission, however, is our work to provide programs and services to the caregivers of older adults whose loved ones are somewhere on the dependency spectrum: from almost independent to totally dependent.
