CJE SeniorLife provides care at times of serious illness for both Jewish and non-Jewish individuals and their families. Our specially-trained staff strives to enhance the quality of life of you or your loved one at a time of great illness. Physical, psychological, spiritual and practical burdens of illness can be addressed. Our major concern turns to managing pain and providing the best care for patients at this stage of their illness.
Lieberman Jewish Hospice Care
CJE SeniorLife provides care at times of serious illness for individuals and their families within a framework of Jewish tradition. In order to offer care consistent with Jewish values, CJE has collaborated with NorthShore University HealthSystem to provide sensitive and compassionate Palliative and Hospice care to the Jewish Community.
Through CJE’s consultation and training, NorthShore University HealthSystems (NSUHS) has developed a care system tailored to the needs of the Jewish community. Hospice services are offered by a care team consisting of:
- Resident Nurse Assistants (RNAs)
- Social Workers
- Music Therapists
Patients have access to these services from NSUHS Hospice:
- Pain and symptom control
- Care coordination with your private physician
- Coordination of medical supplies, equipment and medication
- Registered nurses on call 24 hours per day
- Bathing and hygiene assistance
- Emotional and spiritual support
- Bereavement counseling and support groups
- Volunteer services
- Spiritual support
Available from a rabbi who is a certified Jewish chaplain.
Special training is provided by CJE to NSUHS’s Home Health, Palliative and Hospice staff with on-going training about Jewish culture and tradition enabling them to offer care in accordance with Jewish traditions, customs and values.
