“The Codebreaker and the POW: A Family Legacy of WWII” with L. Sue Baughack

In this gripping family story, author Sue Baugh describes how her father, born in Manila, became a codebreaker for the U.S. Navy and helped crack Japanese codes before the Battle of Midway, while her grandfather fought on Corregidor Island and survived three years in a Japanese POW camp. This multimedia presentation reveals the heroic efforts it took to defeat Japanese forces and liberate the Philippines.

L. Sue Baugh is a writer and editor who works in the educational, business, and science/medical fields. She provides print and online content for independent companies and major publishers and has written several reference books on writing. Her photo/essay book, Echoes of Earth, blends art and science to document the world’s oldest rock and mineral sites. She received a BA from the University of Iowa and an MFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
