How to Super Age

Past presentations:

  • A Holistic Approach to Positive Aging: Mind, Body, and Spirit

Rabbi Michelle Stern, CJE’s Manager of Spiritual and Religious Life, and Dr. Eitan Kimchi, a geriatric psychiatrist at University of Illinois Chicago, as they share how we can age with dignity, resilience, and purpose in the face of changes to our minds and bodies. Learned ways to empower yourselves and others, and to cultivate peace through this holistic approach to aging.

  • The Future of Elderhood: More and Better

Join us for an intriguing presentation by Louise Aronson, MD, MFA, a noted Harvard-trained geriatrician and author of Elderhood: Redefining Aging, Transforming Medicine, and Reimagining Life.

For decades, “old” has been defined as beginning between the ages of 60 and 70. That means most people alive today will spend more years in elderhood than in childhood, and many will be elders for 40 years or more. Yet, at the very moment humans are living longer than ever before, we’ve made old age into a disease, a condition to be dreaded, disparaged, neglected, and denied. This discussion challenges not only the way we look at aging but also the way we think and feel about medicine and what it means to be a human being across the lifespan.
