NEW Linkages Connections Support Group

This support group for older adults with a family member with a disability offers opportunities to connect, share experiences and learn about benefits and community resources.

Meets: This support group meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month.

Time: 11a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Location: Bernard Horwich Building, Room 233, 3003 W. Touhy Ave. Chicago, IL

North Shore Congregation Israel and CJE SeniorLife are offering an ongoing support group for family caregivers of older adults.

  • Meet others who face similar challenges.
  • Discover new resources of information.
  • Find ways to cope with and relieve the stress of caregiving.

Meets: the First Tuesday of every month.

Time: 7p.m. to 8:30 p.m

Location: North Shore Congregation Israel, 1185 Sheridan Road, Glencoe.

Fees: Group is free and open to the public

Support group for individuals who are involved in the care of someone with dementia.

  • Learn about dementia and caregiving.
  • Meet others who face similar challenges.
  • Discover ways to relieve caregiver stress and burn-out.
  • Learn how to deal with difficult behaviors, such as: repetitive questions, resistance to bathing, changing clothes, or aggression.

Meets:  the first Wednesday of every month

Time: 7p.m. to 8:30 p.m

Location: 1551 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield

NEW!  Support group for individuals who are involved in the care of someone with Parkinson’s.

  • Learn about dementia and caregiving
  • Have an opportunity to discuss experiences and feelings, to share solutions to common problems and learn about different resources such as exercise classes, art therapy classes, etc.
  • Meet others who face similar challenges and give and receive support.
  • Discover ways to relieve caregiver stress and burn-out.

This support group offers emotional support and education for family members involved in the care of someone with Parkinson's. 

Meets:  third Tuesday of every month

Time: 7p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Location: Weinberg Community for Senior Living, Gidwitz Place, 1551 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield. 

Fee(s): Group is free; donations are welcome.

Open to the public.

This support group is open to families and participants of CJE SeniorLife's Adult Day Services and Culture Bus programs. 

Meets:  the second Tuesday of each month

Time: 3:15-4:30 p.m., at Adult Day Services, 1015 Howard Street, Evanston. 

It is NOT open to the public.
